Warren Mansell is currently Professor of Mental Health at Curtin University, Perth, Australia.
After a longstanding interest in science and nature, Warren developed as an academic at University of Cambridge, Oxford, and London, before starting as a lecturer in clinical psychology at University of Manchester in 2005. Since around this time, he has focused on using a scientific approach known as perceptual control theory, to guide his research, and to develop novel, universal, psychological interventions for mental health. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and co-authored or edited over a dozen books, including a number of therapy manuals. His most recent work includes an integrative control theory perspective on consciousness, published in the journal Psychological Review, and editing two interdisciplinary handbooks spanning the fields of neuroscience, human performance, human-machine interaction, robotics, health, mental health, sociology, and education.
